Why are there so many models of AC equipment from the same company?
That can be a little confusing, for sure. Most companies, like Carrier and Lennox, offer three or four model lines of equipment. All are available in sizes that are suitable for any Texas home. The differences include features, engineering, sound levels, efficiency rating and even appearance. Typically, each company offers a basic model line and a premium model line, along with an intermediate line. Price often determines which model you select. Compare features, warranties, and other factors before making your selection.

Will the AC system I buy be manufactured in the USA?
That depends on the brand of system and the type of system you purchase. Most brands of central AC equipment are manufactured in the United States. Goodman, for example, has a large manufacturing facility in the Houston area, even though Daikin, a global corporation, now owns the company. If you opt for a ductless air conditioner or heat pump, you’ll find that most of those units are made outside of the US. Ask your Texas AC contractor about the country of origin of the models you are considering.
